Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BD Manager) with deep knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem and strong connections with Shopify-focused agencies. This role will be instrumental in building and scaling our agency partner program, driving mutual growth through co-marketing, referrals, and strategic collaboration.
As an early member of our North America BD team, you’ll shape our partner strategy, identify high-potential agency relationships, and create win–win opportunities that strengthen our market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a portfolio of Shopify-focused agencies (email/SMS, loyalty, CRO, paid media, design/build agencies, etc.).
- Develop a structured partner program with clear tiers, benefits, and incentives.
- Drive referrals and co-selling opportunities through agency partnerships.
- Execute co-marketing activities with agencies, including webinars, events, playbooks, and case studies.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Shopify ecosystem trends, competitors, and agency business models.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to maximize value from partnerships.
- Track partnership performance with clear KPIs (referrals, pipeline influence, revenue contribution).
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Marketing, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Business Development, Partnerships, or Account Management in SaaS or eCommerce.
• Established network within Shopify and e-commerce agency communities.
• Strong understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and proven experience working with Shopify-focused agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to build and grow agency/partner programs.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-starter with a growth mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
